Diana’s best style moments from 1983

Since Diana, Princess of Wales has arrived on Netflix’s The Crown, we’re looking at some of her best style moments from 1980s, starting with her debut as a royal fiancée in February 1981.

On 17 January 1983, Diana wore this bold-patterned dress to the Royal Academy of Arts’ opening reception for the Britain Salutes New York Festival.

In March, Charles and Diana and William undertook a royal visit to Australia. In one of The Crown’s newest promotions, Emma Corrin’s version of Diana is shown wearing this pink polka dot dress and matching hat.

Diana was spotted chatting with Sarah Ferguson, future Duchess of York, at a polo match at the Guard’s Polo Club in Windsor in June 1983. The now-iconic black sheep sweater was originally purchased from the London shop Warm & Wonderful. In honour of The Crown’s fourth season, it is being reissued by Rowing Blazers.
