The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall headed to the Republic of Ireland this week for a two-day visit before departing for a trip to Northern Ireland, and the couple saw everything from traditional Irish dancing to blooming botanic gardens – and a few cute canines along the way.
Some of the highlights from day one included meeting the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, and his wife, Sabrina Higgins, at Powerscourt House and Gardens; The Duchess of Cornwall meeting with staff and clients at Bray Women’s Refuge; and the couple attending a dinner to celebrate UK/Ireland relations.
On day two, the Prince of Wales, a keen gardener himself, visited the Kilmacurragh Botanic Gardens. He also headed to the Glendalough Monastic Settlement and Upper Lake in Glendalough. Meanwhile, the Duchess stopped by Ireland’s oldest working mill in Avoca Village, Wicklow.
