Queen Camilla was in York this weekend to fit another race into her summer schedule before the Royal Family, the Prime Minister, and others are set to visit Balmoral in Scotland.
The Queen was at York Racecourse to take in the last day of the Ebor Festival (21 to 24 August). In addition to taking in the racing, Queen Camilla also cut the ribbon to officially open the new development at the racecourse. She looked to be having a good day, chatting animatedly while watching the races.
The Queen also awarded the cup to the winner of the Ebor Handicap; Irish mare Magical Zoe, jockey Billy Lee, and trainer Henry de Bromhead took first place.

Buckingham Palace announced in May 2024 that Queen Camilla was officially Royal Patron; this was her first public appearance at the racecourse since the announcement. (She took over the role from the Duke of York after he handed back his patronages.)
