New photo of Prince George released for 9th birthday

A new photo of Prince George has been released by Kensington Palace for his ninth birthday on 22 July.

The image was taken by his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, while on a family holiday at a beach earlier this month. It shows the Prince with a bright smile that greatly resembles his father, Prince William.

A similar beach photo was released of George’s younger brother, Prince Louis, earlier this year on his fourth birthday. That image was taken in Norfolk, but it has not been said if the photo of George was taken at the same time.

Prince George has been seen out with his parents more this past year with several appearances during the Platinum Jubilee and more recently at Wimbeldon, where he was given a chance to hold the prized trophy. Men’s Singles champion, Novak Djokovic, let the young royal hold the tennis trophy when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met him after the match to congratulate him.

Prince George currently attends Thomas’s Battersea in London alongside his sister, Princess Charlotte. There are rumours that the siblings may switch schools in the autumn if the family relocates to Windsor. However, nothing has been confirmed yet by Kensington Palace.
