The then-Catherine “Kate” Middleton did not begin her education in her native country of the United Kingdom. Instead, she began her schooling at an English-language nursery school in Amman, Jordan. At the time, her father, Michael Middleton, was working for British Airways in the country. They lived in the Middle Eastern kingdom from May 1984 to September 1986.

Upon her family’s return to the United Kingdom, she was enrolled at the private St Andrew’s School when she was four-years-old. She mainly commuted from home to the school but did end up boarding occasionally as she got older.

For a brief time, Kate studied at Downe House, but due to bullying, she transferred to Marlborough College in Wiltshire. There she achieved A-levels in chemistry, biology and art. Before entering university, she took a gap year in 2000 where she travelled to Italy to study at the British Institute in Florence as well as Chile to participate in a Raleigh International programme. Additionally, Kate was in the Solent to crew Round the World Challenge boats.

Her university education in Art History took place in Scotland at St Andrew’s University where she entered in 2001; it was there that she met Prince William. She graduated with an MA (2:1 Hons) in the history of art on 23 June 2005 alongside William who received a 2:1 in Geography.

Kate then moved to London and lived with her sister Pippa, and she worked for her parents’ company Party Pieces. Her engagement to Prince William was announced several years later in 2010. They married in Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011. Their four-year-old son, Prince George will enter Thomas’s Battersea School in September. Their two-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte is expected to begin nursery school next year.
