Behind the scenes at the Coronation as King Charles sends birthday wishes to Prince William

The King has taken everyone behind the scenes at his Coronation to wish his elder son a happy birthday.

As Prince William marks his first birthday as heir to the throne and Prince of Wales, the official Royal Family social media accounts shared an unseen moment from the rehearsals for the Coronation to mark the moment.

King Charles III and the Prince of Wales are seen laughing as William practices fastening his father’s supertunica as they practised for the historic ceremony.

As William rehearses, he is seen smiling broadly while his father chuckles in return. The image was taken by Chris Jackson at Getty Images and hints that other behind the scenes photos may be in store in times to come.

Prince William marks his 41st birthday in 2023.

William Arthur Philip Louis was born on June 21st 1982 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, the first child of King Charles III and Diana, Princess of Wales. He was second in line to the throne at the time of his birth and became heir on September 8th 2022, on the accession of his father.
