The King and Queen have continued the celebrations for their twentieth wedding anniversary as they were given a very special present to mark two decades of marriage.
On their return from Italy, where they marked their big day during a State Visit, The King and Queen headed to Scotland where their gift was ready and waiting.
However, it was pretty hard for them to get their hands on it – the present is a piece of music written specially to mark their wedding anniversary.

The piece was composed by Paul Mealor who created the work to combine two of the couple’s great passions. Professor Mealor, who has composed pieces to mark many big royal moments, said he had taken The Queen’s love of literature and The King’s fondness for music and set ”great poetry” to a new melody to mark their anniversary.
The piece was performed for the first time by St John’s Festival Choir at Crathie Kirk near Balmoral just days after the anniversary with King Charles and Queen Camilla in attendance.
Paul Mealor said he wrote the piece and sent it to Their Majesties who had suggested that it have its debut in Crathie to mark their milestone.
King Charles and Queen Camilla attended morning service at the kirk while they enjoy a few days relaxing at their nearby home at Birkhall.
