Prince George named ‘King of the Capital’

Prince George has been named as the most influential person in London.

The eight-week-old heir to the throne was described as the capital’s “biggest global ambassador,” as he topped the Evening Standard’s Power 1000, which lists the most influential Londoners.

“London is a magnet for the rest of the world,” editor Sarah Sands explained. “Our newest power resident, Prince George, is a timely symbol.”

At just eight-weeks old Prince George is already being described as an influential Londoner.

“He is our greatest tourist attraction, along with his great-grandmother, which is why he has been chose this year as the first among Londoners.”

The little Prince beat parents the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William who are placed seventh and eleventh respectively.

Prince Harry also joins brother William at eleven and The Queen who made the list at sixteen.

The royals join celebrities Harry Styles, of One Direction, and model Cara Delevingne in the annual list.

George, who is third-in-line for the throne, was born on July 22nd and his birth was celebrated across London.

The London Eye lit up and the waterfalls at Trafalgar Square glowed with blue lights as the capital celebrated the royal’s arrival.

Last week, William and Kate travelled to Balmoral in Scotland where Prince George was introduced to the Duke of Edinburgh for the first time.

Prince Philip was the last senior royal to meet him as at the time of George’s birth, the Duke was resting at Sandringham after undergoing surgery.
