Kensington Palace send royal fan Terry Hutt birthday cake

CD2V-tPWIAAxaoE.jpg-largeSeasoned royal fan Terry Hutt celebrated his 80th birthday outside the Lindo Wing today as royal baby watch officially moves into overtime. Staff from Kensington Palace sent the union-flag clad royalist a birthday cake along with a handwritten message offering their best wishes for the day.

The message read:

“Dear Terry,
This comes with our best wishes on your 80th birthday.
From the team at Kensington Palace”

Earlier this week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arranged for staff to send out pastries to royal fans camped outside the Lindo Wing, a gesture which was picked up by the media assembled outside awaiting the royal arrival.

Terry Hutt also camped outside the Lindo Wing back in 2013 for the birth of Prince George, and this time has been in place opposite the private maternity wing since 20th April.

With the Duchess herself now almost certainly overdue, royal reporters gathered outside the Lindo Wing have been filling their time talking to Terry and the other dedicated fans who’ve camped outside as well.

Unlike with the birth of Prince George, media aren’t this time allowed to take up press positions until Kate is admitted to the hospital. This includes not being able to broadcast live from outside the Lindo Wing, leading many journalists to make use of the new live streaming phone app ‘Periscope’ as they feed sporadic live updates from around St Mary’s Hospital, much to he amusement of royal watchers on Twitter.

Royal fan Terry Hutt has already received a number of other gifts and cakes today, including a birthday cake from Hello! Magazine.

The cake from staff at Kensington Palace was diplomatically wrapped in both blue and pink ribbon.

Despite the wait continuing, hope was raised earlier that the Great Kate Wait may soon be over after a car with escort was spotted leaving Kensington Palace, however this was quickly played down by officials, while the Duchess of Cornwall earlier confirmed to the wife of a veteran during an engagement that there was still ‘no news’ on the baby’s arrival.Prince Charles, meanwhile, reiterated his hopes for a baby girl today to 100-year-old Eric Jones at a garden party for the Welsh Guards at Windsor Castle.
