The Band of the Royal Logistic Corps played the 1976 hit in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace in front of hundreds of spectators.

The Queen is reportedly a huge fan of ABBA’s Dancing Queen and loves to dance along to the music.

BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans recently told a friend that Her Majesty made the revelation during a dinner at Windsor Castle much to the amusement of guests.

She apparently said: “I always try to dance when this song comes on, because I am the Queen, and I like to dance.”

Guests were said to have been surprised by the news, reacting: “My goodness me, there is the Dancing Queen.”

The performance of the song by The Queen’s Guards comes in the same week as the romantical comedy ‘Mamma Mia, Here We Go Again’ is released in cinemas worldwide.

The sequel follows the original 2008 film Mamma Mia, and includes performances of some of ABBA’s greatest hits.
