Zara Phillips Moves Back In To Princess Anne’s Estate

Zara Phillips, daughter of HRH Princess Anne and granddaughter to Her Majesty The Queen, and her husband Mike Tindall have begun their move back into Princess Anne’s residence, Gatcombe Park.

The move was announced a few months ago and Mike and Zara sold their Cheltenham home for £1.2 million ($1.9 million) earlier in 2012. It was discovered the move had begun once removal men had turned up at the Tindalls’ old house and moved various items of furniture into the van.

The couple, who married in 2011, shortly after the wedding of Prince William and the now Duchess Of Cambridge, at Cannongate Kirk on the Royal Mile will now move back into Princess Anne’s estate, Gatcombe Park.

Gatcombe Park is a modestly large estate in Gloucester. Today the Princess Royal lives in the manor house with her second husband, Sir Timothy Laurence. Mark Phillips lives in the adjoining Aston Farm with his second wife, the estates having been separated when the couple divorced. Son Peter Phillips and daughter Zara Phillips have their own personal cottages within the estate, both only moving back in fairly recently.

The Gatcombe Estate now covers around 730 acres, of which 200 acres are woodland, and includes a lake containing brown trout. There are considerable stabling facilities, including a new stable block.

The house comprises five main bedrooms, four secondary bedrooms, four reception rooms, a library, a billiard room and a conservatory, as well as staff accommodation.

Princess Anne and Mark Phillips originally moved in in 1977 after The Queen bought them the house for £5 million.
