Queen Rania opens new headquarters for Al Karma Kitchen

Queen Rania of Jordan was on hand to open the new headquarters of Al Karma Kitchen in Amman’s Hay al Yasmine.

The Queen of Jordan met many of the female employees at the headquarters and got a tour of the new facility.

She heard from JRF Director General Enaam Barrisihi why the new facility was built and how it hopes to create additional work opportunities for women in the local area and improve their living conditions.

The hope is that JRF can hire 260 additional employees.

They hope the new headquarters will increase production and exports to meet the ever-growing demand.

JRF Social Enterprises Director Mahfouz Said explained that the kitchen offers many food items; this includes 13 frozen food items that are sold in 100 stores across Amman, Irbid, and Al Zarqa.

Al Karma Kitchen was launched in 2006 as a social enterprise by the Jordan River Foundation (JRF). It’s known for its ready-to-eat meals to individuals and companies. It provides supplies to many prominent hotels across the Middle East.

Queen Rania’s Office explained its purpose as providing “work and training opportunities to local women with a culinary background in order to improve their skills and chances at employability.”
