It has been almost two weeks since the news came from Sweden that Her Majesty Queen Silvia had been taken to the hospital after a fall. After treatment, Silvia returned to Drottningholm Palace. The queen was treated for a fracture in her wrist.
Following the accident, the Queen’s assignments were put on hold. However, the Queen joined her husband at a digital event on Thursday. Together with the King, she held a video meeting with the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and five representatives of the Swedish pharmaceutical industry. The royal couple participated from their private apartment at Drottningholm Palace and they were also joined by their daughter Crown Princess Victoria and their son-in-law Prince Daniel from their dining room at Haga Palace. The Queen’s injured right arm was hidden under a warm, comfortable cardigan.
The next official event for the Queen is not until March 10. The Royal Court does not say what the Queen will do on March 10, but it is unlikely that the Queen will appear in public for a while. In a comment from the Royal Court to the Swedish magazine “Svensk damtidining”, it is said: “The Queen works and has team meetings and so on. She has a plastered wrist, but she works. However, some more extensive programs, which primarily involve some planning work, has had to be postponed.”
