Princess Madeleine forced to announce third pregnancy early

Princess Madeleine was forced to reveal her third pregnancy earlier than she planned, various Swedish media outlets have reported.

The Swedish Royal Family had, naturally, been aware for a while that there would be another member of their family early next year. After revealing she was expecting her third child to friends, it became apparent that the news was going to break before the Royal Court had made the official announcement after she had gotten through her first trimester. Therefore, Madeleine announced her happy news on her Facebook page, and that was followed by a press release from the Royal Court.

Expressen asked Madeleine’s mother, Queen Silvia, about the announcement of her impending seventh grandchild. Her Majesty confirmed that her daughter’s pregnancy was announced earlier than anticipated saying, “We are extremely happy. But, we would have liked to wait a little longer to tell. Also, Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill would’ve wanted that. It’s a bit early yet.”

She also added, “It is so much calmer for the mother if you wait a little longer. But yes, now it’s like it is; it would have come out ‘somehow.’ We hope, of course, that it will be fine. Princess Madeleine feels good, and it’s great.”

Expressen asked when the Queen found out about Madeleine’s third pregnancy, but she declined to reveal that information.

The Princess wrote on Facebook on Sunday, “Chris and I are thrilled to announce that I am expecting. We look forward to four becoming five!”

The Royal Court’s press release said, “HRH Princess Madeleine and Mr Christopher O’Neill are delighted to announce that The Princess is expecting their third child.

“The Princess is feeling well, and the birth is expected to take place in March 2018.”

A new member of the Swedish Royal Family will soon be born, as Princess Sofia, the wife of the King and Queen’s son Prince Carl Philip, is due to give birth to her and Carl Philip’s second child any day. The new child will be the sixth grandchild of the King and Queen.
