Princess Adrienne of Sweden turns four

The Swedish Royal Family has a reason to celebrate today as Princess Adrienne marks her fourth birthday.

The Princess resides in Florida with her family and will mark her birthday privately in the Sunshine State.

Her mother, Princess Madeleine, shared two new photos of her youngest child on social media today for Adrienne’s special day. One features the Princess by herself and the other with her two older siblings.

In her post, Madeleine said: “Happy 4th Birthday to our sweet Adrienne! You’re our youngest, yet you stand strong on your own two feet. And you are smart, caring and full of life. Leonore, Nicolas, Mummy and Daddy all love you very much!”

Adrienne is the youngest of Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill’s three children. Her older siblings are Princess Leonore, 8, and Prince Nicolas, 6. She is the youngest granddaughter of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.

Adrienne is 11th in the Swedish line of succession.

She was born on 9 March 2018 in Danderyd Hospital in Danderyd, Sweden. Her full name and title of HRH Princess Adrienne Josephine Alice, Duchess of Blekinge, was announced by her grandfather in a cabinet meeting a couple of days after her birth.

She held the style of Royal Highness until October of 2019 when her grandfather removed the Royal Highness status and position in the Royal House from his grandchildren through his son, Prince Carl Philip and his wife, Princess Sofia, as well as the children of Princess Madeleine and her husband, Chris.

Princess Adrienne’s cousins, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, retain their place in the Royal House and status as Royal Highnesses as they are the children of Crown Princess Victoria – the future queen.

Adrienne was christened on 8 June 2018 – her parents’ fifth wedding anniversary. The ceremony took place in the Royal Chapel of Drottningholm Palace with Anouska d’Abo (her first cousin), Coralie Charriol Paul, Nader Panahpour, Baron Gustav Thott, Charlotte Kreuger Cederlund and Natalie Werner serving as godparents.

She has spent the majority of her young life in the United States.
