This year, Serbia is celebrating a significant anniversary. It is 30 years since Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine began work on one of their main charities.
Over the years, the Crown Prince couple have established several charities, including the Princess Katherine Foundation and the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization, which work to help the most vulnerable in society.
Their work has had a major focus in the healthcare sector, helping to provide medical equipment and support to hospitals and clinics across Serbia.
The anniversary has so far been marked during a dinner in London and will later also be marked in the USA, Greece and of course Serbia.
Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine said during the event in London: “This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Lifeline Humanitarian Organisation United Kingdom, founded in London in 1993, and it is a true honour to be the proud patron of this great organisation from its very beginning. The love and commitment of all supporters of Lifeline for those that are in need are admirable and deserve every praise. We need to make a difference in this world because we have a responsibility, not just for ourselves, but for others, too”.
The London event was attended by Serbian politicians and supporters including a variety of international guests.
It was held at Claridge’s in London. The location of the event is very symbolic, since on 17 July 1945, in suite 212 of Claridge’s hotel, Crown Prince Alexander was born.
