King Harald of Norway has honoured Norwegian veterans at an event organised by the Norwegian Veterans’ Association for International Operations (NVIO).
The King, who is patron of the organisation, discussed the importance of peer support and the skills veterans acquired during their time in the military.
The meeting was attended by around 60 delegates from across Norway. The NVIO President Ole Asbjørn Fauske spoke of the importance of individual veterans’ competence. With over 62,000 surviving veterans in Norway, the skills and expertise they have acquired during their service can be utilised in many contexts, which is a valuable asset that the country can use.
Norway has a rich history of military engagement in international operations, and the Norwegian Veterans’ Association for International Operations plays a vital role in supporting the veterans who have served in these operations.
The NVIO is the country’s oldest and largest veterans association, and it provides valuable support to veterans who have made sacrifices in the service of their country.
