Innovation in the spotlight for the Crown Prince and Princess of Norway

Innovation and forward-looking entrepreneurship are something that strongly engages the Norwegian Crown Prince and Princess. Both Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette Marit attended the opening of Oslo Innovation Week on September 26th 2022.

The opening took place in beautiful surroundings of Oslo City Hall, where more than 450 participants attended the opening ceremony for this year’s innovation week. The opening was started with speeches from doctor and entrepreneur Ida Susanna Fattah and Oslo City Council Member for Industry and Ownership, Victoria Marie Evensen.

After the Crown Prince and Princess had been welcomed, there was also a lecture about experiences in giving Norwegian contractors experience from Finnish business life. The topic was taken further in the panel discussion “How to create a good ecosystem for talent?”.

Crown Prince Haakon has previously said about innovation and those involved in it: ā€œWe all depend on you to make the necessary changes. This is the right time and place. We need the best minds with the best ideas and brave decision-makers to bring the planet back into balance. The generations before us did not have the knowledge, technology and opportunities that we have. We now know what is at stake.Ā»

Oslo Innovation Week aims to bring forward new voices and innovation in action. They want to highlight bold solutions that solve real global challenges through entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation and believe in creating sustainable solutions by bridging differences and forming new forces, pushing the world forward through collaboration. This has become an annual event in Norway.

Crown Prince Haakon was also present when Mesh marked its 10th anniversary Monday evening. Mesh offers premises and meeting places for entrepreneurs and innovators in central Oslo.
