Crown Princess Mette Marit of Norway is making the most of her time in Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics and has caught several different events.
Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette Marit were at Pierre Mauroy Stadium to cheer on the Norwegian women’s handball team as they faced the host and defending Olympic champions, France, for the Gold Medal.
Although Norway barely pulled out ahead in the first half of the match, they were able to clinch the Gold Medal with a final score of 29-21 over France.
The Norwegian Royal Family shared a video on Instagram showing the couple hugging and celebrating after the victory. They also shared photos showing them greeting the team afterwards courtside.
Solfrid Koanda also won the Gold Medal for Norway in women’s 81 kg weightlifting with a lift of 275 kg. Crown Prince Haakon met Koanda earlier in the week when he was touring the Olympic Village.
While Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette Marit are enjoying Paris, King Harald and Queen Sonja have shared that they are enjoying the Olympics from the comfort of their home as they take in the Games with their trusted iPad.
