Belgium’s future queen sees the queen of track and field make history

Belgium’s future queen was on hand to see her country’s top athlete receive a medal that placed Belgium in the Olympic history books. And Princess Elisabeth and her brothers and sister are staying busy in Paris at the 2024 Summer Olympics with a stacked schedule, even as the Games come to a close.

The Belgian Royal Palace have shared several photos of Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant and her younger siblings, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel, and Princess Eleonore, making the most of their Olympic stay.

On Saturday, the penultimate day of the Games, they were able to see the Belgian Tornados place fourth in the men’s 4 x 400 metre relay at the Stade de France. The Belgian Cheetahs also competed in the women’s 4 x 400 metre relay but unfortunately placed seventh in the finals.

The four siblings also saw Bashir Abdi take the Silver Medal in the men’s marathon event with a final time of 2:06:47.

Princess Elisabeth, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel, and Princess Eleonore were also able to attend the medal ceremony for the women’s heptathlon, an historic moment as Nafissatou Thiam took gold for the third Olympics in a row. Noor Vidts took the bronze.

They also spent time exploring the Olympic Broadcasting Center, the group responsible for broadcasting all of the Olympic competitions across the Globe. OBC largely depends on the Belgian company EVS for needed technology.

The four siblings have stuck to the tried and true official Belgian Olympic kit for their time in Paris, wearing both the casual shirt and hat.
