Prince Christian of Denmark will turn 18 on 15 October, with celebrations in the Danish capital of Copenhagen.
Almost all of the Danish Royal Family will be in attendance to mark the heir to the throne’s big day. Margrethe’s sister, Princess Benedikte of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece will also attend. It’s thought some of their children will also participate, although this hasn’t been confirmed.
So, which royals from across Europe will be in Denmark for the festivities?
Belgium:
Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant
Greece:
Queen Anne-Marie (Christian’s great-aunt) and Princess Alexia. It’s not been confirmed, but it is thought Crown Prince Pavlos (Christian’s godfather) will also be in attendance, as will many of the Greek royals who are close cousins with Prince Christian.
The Netherlands:
Amalia, the Princess of Orange
Norway:
Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Ingrid Alexandra (the Crown Prince is Christian’s godfather)
Sweden:
Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and Princess Estelle. (The Crown Princess is Christian’s godmother).
