Queen Margrethe of Denmark says goodbye to summer with flowers

The Queen of Denmark has ended her summer tour on board the royal yacht by decking the boat with the many bouquets she was given during her visits.

Queen Margrethe has spent several days touring different parts of Denmark on the Dannebrog as well as hosting receptions on board the ship.

Margrethe II began her tour in Thisted Municipality on August 30th 2021 where she visited a World War Two fortification, had lunch at a lighthouse, spent time at a nature reserve and with a whisky producer and inaugurated a new area of the port at Hanstolm.

On August 31st 2021, the Danish queen headed to Esbjerg Municipality for a day that included a reception at the City Hall and a visit to the Musikhuset which Margrethe II opened in 1997 and where she was treated to ballet performance. Her day in Esbjerg also included a visit to a streets sports facility and to a company producing life saving equipment.

The final day of her summer tour, September 1st 2021, took her to Fano Municipality where she visited the local museum and was treated to a performance of folk dancing. Queen Margrethe also spent time at Sonderho Harbour and at a childcare centre.

The Queen of Denmark hosted receptions on board the royal yacht at the end of each day of her visit.

Queen Margrethe’s summer break is now at an end and she is resuming a full diary of engagements as autumn gets under way.
