Princess Benedikte undertakes important trip across the pond

Princess Benedikte of Denmark and Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg is best known for supporting her sister, Queen Margrethe of Denmark.

However, the Princess has recently travelled on an official visit to the United States to promote issues that she believes are important.

Princess Benedikte participated in the Olave Baden-Powell Society Annual Event and board meetings in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Olave Baden-Powell Society is a global network of organisations and individuals supporting the Girl Scouts, The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. Princess Benedikte is patron of the Olave Baden-Powell Society.

The Olave Baden-Powell Society Annual Event and board meetings also offered the Danish Princess a variety of social events, including a Welcome Reception, Gala Dinner, Princess Benedikte Awardee Reception, and Presentation Ceremonies which celebrated the generosity of new and upgrading members.

When founded in 1984, the Olave Baden-Powell Society strongly wanted a royal patronage. Queen Ingrid of Denmark and her daughter, Princess Benedikte, were contacted to determine whether they would be willing to accept the role, and they accepted.

For many years, Princess Benedikte has been firmly committed to the scouting movement, and the Princess has visited major scouting events in Denmark on several occasions during the year as a guest of honour.

The Princess ended her visit to the USA on 24 October, and she has since returned to Denmark.
