Prince Joachim of Denmark confirms move to the United States

Prince Joachim of Denmark and his family are moving to the United States.

The prince, sixth in line to the Danish throne, will begin a new job in Washington D.C. in September.

Ahead of that, Prince Joachim, along with his wife, Princess Marie, and their two children, Henrik and Athena, will move to the US capital in the summer.

Prince Joachim will take up the role of Defence Industry Attaché at the Danish Embassy in Washington D.C. His latest post will involve strengthening defence industrial co-operation with the US and Canada in the years ahead.

It will bring to an end his time in Paris. The prince moved to the French capital in 2019 where he took part in France’s highest ranking military training course. After successfully completing that, he worked as Defence Attaché at the Danish embassy in Paris.

Prince Joachim is the younger son of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and her late husband, Prince Henrik.
