New family photos revealed as Crown Princess Mary turns 50

The Danish Royal House has revealed new photos of Crown Princess Mary and her family as she celebrates her 50th birthday.

The images were taken at Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg by Hasse Nielsen; they were released on 4 February.

Four new photographs were released – two full family photos, one image of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary and one of Mary by herself.

The Royal Court also said that people would be able to wish the Crown Princess a happy birthday on their social media accounts all day on 5 February.

Celebrations for Crown Princess Mary have been taking place all week. She unveiled a new portrait of herself and opened a new exhibit on her life at Frederiksborg Castle. Special stamps have also been released to mark the occasion, and new official gala photos were also released of her and the Crown Prince.

“Mary’s Australian Garden” was unveiled at the Copenhagen Zoo, the Crown Princess Mary Centre for knowledge was opened, and another exhibit on all the Danish crown princesses opened.

Some events were cancelled or postponed due to the ongoing global health situation. The planned gala dinner was cancelled, and the Mary Foundation’s planned birthday celebrations were postponed until a later date.
