Danish Royal House releases new images of royal twins

The Danish Royal House has released new images to mark the birthday of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary’s twins.

Solo images of Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine were released on the morning of their 12th birthday, taken by Jens Rosenfeldt.

Usually, the Royal House releases a photo of the twins together and then one of each child by themselves; however, this year, they chose to release just one individual photograph of each royal child.

The 12-year-olds are spitting images of their parents; Vincent is Crown Prince Frederik’s copy, while Josephine looks just like Crown Princess Mary.

Josephine and Vincent are the youngest children of the Crown Prince Couple. They were born on 8 January 2011 at Copenhagen University Hospital. Their older siblings are Prince Christian (17) and Princess Isabella (15).

Vincent was born 26 minutes before Josephine, and they are fourth and fifth in line to the Danish throne, respectively.

The twins attend Tranegårdsskolen in Gentofte like their elder siblings before them.

As of 1 January 2023, Vincent, Josephine and their siblings are the only grandchildren of Queen Margrethe to carry the style of Royal Highness and titles of ‘Prince/Princess.’ Their cousins, former Princes Nikolai, Felix and Henrik and Princess Athena, are now known as Counts and Countess of Monpezat.
