The Danish Royal Family has released an official photograph from the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Queen Margrethe.
The new image was taken ahead of the private dinner for the family on 14 January at Christian VII’s Palace at Amalienborg.
It features the Queen with her sister, Princess Benedikte; her sons, Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim; her daughters-in-law, Crown Princess Mary and Princess Marie; and her grandchildren, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine (children of the Crown Prince Couple), as well as Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix (Prince Joachim’s children from his first marriage) and Prince Henrik and Princess Athena (children of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie).
The photo was taken in the palace’s Green Salon by Steen Brogaard.
The Crown Prince Couple hosted the dinner for Queen Margrethe’s immediate family. Unfortunately, one person was missing – Queen Anne-Marie of Greece. The youngest sister of Margrethe was unable to travel to Denmark because her husband, King Constantine, was in the hospital with COVID.
The Flora Danica tableware was used for the first time since the 80th birthday of Margrethe’s mother, Queen Ingrid, in 1990.
The Royal House also released a photo from the private dinner to the public.
Most of the events for the Golden Jubilee had to be scaled down or postponed due to the global health situation.
