Crown Prince Frederik poses for cute picture with young royal fans

On Thursday, Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark gave three royal fans (and all royal watchers) a glimpse of cuteness to remember.

The Danish Royal Household shared on their social media accounts pictures of the Crown Prince posing for photographs with three young fans dressed up in Royal Guards’ uniform.

The three children are twins, Malthe and William, and their friend Carl, and their parents explained that it was far from the first time that they had done that.

It all started four years ago when Malthe and William’s grandmother brought them to Amalienborg Palace to witness the changing of the guard. The twins were very much impressed by the pomp and ceremony of a guard change and decided to try their hand at replicating the ritual.

The twins’ father declared that his children have also done this at home, stating that they were protecting their own house and that they have sometimes gone at it throughout the entire day.

The twins’ parents share that they go to Amalienborg Palace at least three times a week, sometimes very early in the morning and that the three children have taken a fancy to marching around the square in their costume uniforms imitating the Guards who are protecting the Palace.

The Instagram and Facebook captions that went with the pictures on the Royal Household’s accounts read, “We are being taken extra care of today,” with three guardsmen emojis.

It is not news that children are often impressed by military displays; the Crown Prince’s own children have often imitated the military parades going on around them when they were younger and starting to take part in royal events.

Crown Prince Frederik is not new to interactions with children, as education and environmentalism amongst the younger generation are two of his most prolific areas of work.
