Belgian Royal Palace unveils Christmas family photo

The Belgian Royal Palace has unveiled a new family photo for Christmas.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are pictured with their four children in an image taken by Royal Palace photographer Bas Bogaerts. The family’s two dogs, Jeep – a white Westie – and Simba, also feature in this year’s photograph.

The photograph of Their Majesties, Princess Elisabeth, 21, Prince Gabriel, 19, Prince Emmanuel, 17, and Princess Eléonore, 14, will feature on their Christmas card this year. Members of the public who sent Christmas greetings to the Royal Family will receive a card with this photo on it in return.

Their Christmas card wishes everyone well at Christmas and in the New Year in each of Belgium’s official languages (French, Dutch and German) and English.

Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant, is currently a student at Lincoln College, University of Oxford, while Prince Gabriel attends the Royal Military Academy of Belgium. Prince Emmanuel and Princess Eléonore are in middle and high school.
