Excitement is growing as the Princess of Wales prepares for what promises to be a particularly busy autumn, with Catherine potentially set to make a significant return to the international stage alongside the Prince of Wales.
The Princess of Wales could accompany Prince William to Mumbai in November for the Earthshot Prize ceremony, in what would mark their first major joint overseas engagement in four years.
The potential trip would represent an important milestone for Catherine, who has gradually resumed her official duties following her cancer treatment in 2024.
The Princess has already demonstrated her growing confidence on the international stage this year, travelling alone to Reggio Emilia in Italy in May as part of her ongoing work and research into early childhood.
A joint appearance at the Earthshot Prize in Mumbai would see Catherine and William return to an event that has become an important part of their work. The last time the couple attended the awards together was in Boston in December 2022.
Their only overseas appearance together since then came in 2023, when they travelled to Jordan for the wedding of Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Rajwa Al Saif.
The autumn diary is expected to be busy elsewhere in the Royal Family, too, with the King and Queen set to undertake an important overseas programme in October.
The King and Queen will travel to Antigua and Barbuda for the biennial Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, where the King is expected to deliver an address.
Before reaching the Caribbean, the King will undertake a state visit to Guyana, followed by a royal visit to the Bahamas, where he serves as head of state.
The programme reflects the increasingly active role being undertaken by the Royal Family, with a full schedule of domestic engagements taking place alongside the overseas visits.
For the Princess of Wales in particular, an appearance at the Earthshot Prize would offer another opportunity to build on her carefully paced return to public life and continue the causes that have become central to her work.
The autumn therefore promises to be an exciting period for royal watchers, with the possibility of a major overseas engagement for William and Catherine and an important Commonwealth programme for the King and Queen.
