Princess Anne reached for a special vintage accessory for son Peter Phillips’ wedding

Princess Anne has long been known for reaching decades deep into her wardrobe before heading out to royal events, and this afternoon’s wedding is no different!

The mother of the groom stepped out of her car at the All Saints Church in Kemble, near her Gloucestershire home, wearing the daffodil-yellow hat she wore to her daughter’s christening in 1981.

Zara Phillips (now Tindall) was christened at Windsor Castle on 27 July 1981, two days before the wedding of her uncle, King Charles, in a service attended by her parents, grandparents, great-grandmother, and godparents.

Royal guests arrived at All Saints Church, including King Charles and Queen Camilla—who will duck out of the festivities early to attend the Epsom Derby. The Prince and Princess of Wales, without their children, also arrived moments before the wedding began. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and Zara and Mike Tindall were also spotted arriving.

Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling became engaged earlier this year; their three daughters—Savannah and Isla from Peter’s first marriage; and Georgina, from Harriet’s first marriage—have acted as bridesmaids for Harriet.
