Princess Anne wasn’t the busiest royal in 2025 and the winner of this year’s title took a considerable lead over the notoriously hard working princess.
Anne came in second on the annual tally of royal engagements, chalking up 478 across 2025 when the final whistle was blown on December 18 2025.
Well ahead of her this year is her older brother, King Charles III, who took on 532 public engagements over the course of the year.
The figures were compiled by royal expert Patricia Treble and first published in the Daily Mirror.
King Charles has had a very busy year. His list of engagements includes events at three incoming State Visits as well as high profile overseas duties.
His last public duty of 2025 was at Dartmouth where he oversaw the Lord High Admiral’s Divisions which marks the end of training for over 190 naval cadets.
Third on this year’s list is the Duke of Edinburgh. Prince Edward carried out 313 duties in 2025 while the Duchess of Edinburgh took on 235.
Queen Camilla is on 228 while the Prince of Wales is on 202. The Princess of Wales was recorded as carrying out 69 engagements. Kate has been gradually returning to duties over the year after announcing she was in remission from cancer.
King Charles is still being treated for cancer although he said in November that his doctors have advised that he can reduce his treatments in the New Year.
The main record of royal engagements is the Court Circular which notes events and duties and appears on the Royal Family website as well as in papers including The Times and the Daily Telegraph.
