Sweden

These are the royals that joined the K-Pop craze in 2025 and got a special gift from breakout stars

It was one of the trends of 2025 and one future queen was ready for it. Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden visited Korea in the autumn of 2025 to celebrate the relationship between the two nations and to mark the 75th anniversary of the Swedish field hospital created during the Korean War. While they were there, the couple met one of the fastest rising groups in K-Pop.

The Crown Princess and prince visited SM Entertainment while in Seoul; SM is one of Korea’s largest entertainment companies. They were able to learn more about how the K-Pop industry trains their artists, as well as SM’s global approach to music. The company also shared how Swedish and Korean songwriters often collaborate to create their signature sound.

Victoria and Daniel also met Hearts2Hearts, SM’s rookie girl group that debuted earlier this year. In what is probably a unique royal gift, the pair received signed albums and merchandise from the members.

K-Pop has long been gaining popularity around the globe, with millions of fans across Europe, North America, South America, and beyond listening to their favourite Korean groups. However, Netflix’s K-Pop Demon Hunters summer 2025 release has pushed K-Pop into the mainstream with growing numbers daily.

The Swedish royals are not the first to dip their toes into the world of K-Pop. In November of 2023, King Charles presented the four members of BlackPink with honourary MBEs to highlight their roles as COP26 ambassadors.
