Queen Elizabeth II’s canine-friendly car goes up for auction

Queen Elizabeth II

Ever fancied a royal ride to and from work? Luckily for you, one of Queen Elizabeth II’s Range Rovers is up auction and could be yours for just £70,000.

Iconic Auctioneers will be auctioning off Queen Elizabeth II’s 2006 Range Rover Supercharged in its Silverstone Festival Sale from 22 to 24 August.

Her Majesty drove the vehicle herself from 2006 through 2008 and had several modifications made to meet her needs. It includes upgraded internal wiring that allows for further security systems, extra handles to help with entry and exit, and mud flaps.

And as it would only be fitting, the royal corgis also left their mark on the Range Rover- the dog guard at the back allowed Queen Elizabeth to safely transport her beloved canine companions.

The vehicle also has a very rare ornament- instead of the standard Range Rover ornament, it includes a silver Labrador with a fish in its mouth. The unique decoration was only used for Queen Elizabeth’s personal vehicles.

The Range Rover is expected to sell for somewhere between £50,000 and £70,000 later in August.

And if you prefer air travel to land, a former royal helicopter is also being auctioned off this week.
