Prince Albert takes Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella to movie premiere

For their first official engagement after their seventh birthday, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella accompanied their father at the pre-premiere of a movie documentary.

In the early evening of Tuesday, 14 December, the royals arrived at Beaux-Arts Cinema in Monaco to cheers from the crowd.

The documentary, called “Naïs au pays des loups” (Naïs in the land of wolves, in English), was created by director Rémy Mességlia and tells the story about a father and his daughter who, from her 1st to her 3rd year of life (meaning before she goes to school), go explore one of France’s most remote natural parks.

During their adventures in Mercantour Natural Park, the duo, hidden behind a camouflage tarp, encounters various wild animals, such as ibexes, snakes, insects and wolves. And the latter is the one that fascinates the little girl. They try to get to know more about the animal, but it seems to be eluding them.

This film will be showcased to the public on Thursday, 16 December on France3, one of France’s public television channels. It was produced by Grand Angle Productions & Chrysalide, with help from France Télévisions.

For the pre-premiere in the Principality of Monaco, the entire crew was present, as well as the director and his daughter Naïs, who is the little girl in the movie. The invitations came from the Prince Albert II Foundation.

The twins are nearing their holiday break from school, which is currently happening with tutors in the Palace, as Prince Albert revealed, citing their need for more “stability” as the main reason for him to make this decision. It was, therefore, a treat for their father to take them to work with him, to see a film that has been critically acclaimed and has already been nominated for “Best Documentary” at the Golden Bee International Children’s Film Festival in India.
