The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared a new photo of their youngest child, Prince Louis, ahead of his third birthday tomorrow.
The photo was taken by the Duchess of Cambridge at Kensington Palace on Wednesday shortly before the Prince headed off for his first day of nursery school at Willcocks Nursery School.
Louis’s older sister, Princess Charlotte, also attended the nursery school, which is located near the family’s London home at Kensington Palace. Charlotte, 5, now attends Thomas’s School alongside Prince George, 7.
The Duchess of Cambridge is a keen photographer and regularly gets behind the lens to take the birthday images of her three children. New photographs of Princess Charlotte are expected ahead of her sixth birthday on 2 May, and with COVID-19 still rampant, it is thought the Duchess will take the images of the Princess for her special day, as well.
Prince Louis Arthur Charles was born on 23 April 2018 at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital. He’s the youngest of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s three children. Louis is fifth in the line of succession and is the first British prince to not surpass an older sister in the line of succession. Male-preference primogeniture was replaced with absolute primogeniture with the Perth Agreement.
The Royal Family has been in an official mourning period since the death of The Queen’s husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, on 9 April at the age of 99. The official mourning period comes to an end tomorrow.
