New images have been released by the Royal House of the Netherlands of the three daughters of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima: Princesses Amalia, Alexia and Ariane.
The photos were taken in July by Martijn Beekman at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague. The sisters each have 2 pictures that have been uploaded to the Royal House’s website.
Princess Amalia, also known as the Princess of Orange, will turn 17 in December; Princess Alexia is 15, and Princess Ariane is 13.
The family has been on their summer holiday in Greece since their summer photo call in July. They left for their vacation shortly after the photo session at Huis ten Bosch, their private residence, ended.
The King and Queen recently issued an apology after a photo surfaced of them not abiding by social distancing guidelines while in Greece. In an image shared on social media, the royal couple were seen standing close to a member of staff at a restaurant they visited while spending time on the Greek island of Milos. It led to comment and debate as all three people in the photo are shoulder to shoulder rather than the recommended one metre plus apart to stop the spread of coronavirus.

In a tweet, the couple said: “A photo appeared in the media in which we didn’t keep enough social distance. In the spontaneity of the moment, we didn’t pay enough attention to that. Of course, we should have. Compliance with coronavirus rules is essential on holiday as well to get the virus under control.”
The tweet is signed ”WA & Maxima”, indicating it is a personal message from the King and Queen of the Netherlands.
The three daughters of Their Majesties are often referred to as “The A-Team” due to all three of their names beginning with the letter ‘A.’ Although, Catharina-Amalia (the heir apparent) is her full legal name, she goes by just Amalia. The King himself joked that he and Máxima chose three names beginning with ‘A’ to complete the triple-A rating.
