Which Royals Missed Princess Eugenie’s Wedding?

Now that Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are officially married let’s take a look at the royal guestlist and find out who was missing and why.

Duchess of Cornwall

The most senior royal to miss Princess Eugenie’s wedding was Camilla. It was announced earlier in the week that the Duchess of Cornwall would miss the ceremony due to previously scheduled engagements in Scotland today, so Prince Charles arrived alone shortly before the Queen and Prince Philip.

Duchess of Kent

The Duchess of Kent was noticeably absent from the wedding this morning, though in her semi-retired state, it might not come as a shock that she was missing today. The Duchess of Kent previously attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May, but seems to choose sparingly which family events she attends. No official reason has been given for her absence.

Princess Alexandra of Kent

We found out early this morning that Princess Alexandra had broken her arm and was following her doctor’s advice to rest. Princess Alexandra regularly attends family events like this and would have been a lock to attend had she not fallen and broken her arm.

Prince Louis and Lena Tindall

At six months old and three months old, respectively, Prince Louis of Cambridge and Lena Tindall were never slated to attend today’s wedding. The son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and the daughter of Zara and Mike Tindall, are too young to attend family weddings, though their older siblings – Prince George and Princess Charlotte, and Mia – were all members of Princess Eugenie’s bridal party.

Prince Philip Shows Up

There had been rampant speculation that Prince Philip may not attend today’s wedding, with reports suggesting that he’d wait until this morning to decide. Though his name was left out of the Order of Procession as a precaution – similar to Harry and Meghan’s Order of Service – he attended and arrived with the Queen just before the ceremony began.
