The Queen and the Duke of Cambridge have visited the scene of the the London tower fire where 17 people have died and and around 74 are still missing.
Her Majesty and her grandson are meeting members of the emergency services as well as residents and community representatives.
Grenfell Tower in Kensington set ablaze on Wednesday morning with around 600 people in the building at the time.
All of these people have now lost their homes and property, as well as family, friends and loved ones.
17 people are confirmed to have died, however, that number is expected to rise significantly. 74 people are thought to be missing, including those who have died.
In a statement yesterday, the 91-year-old monarch said: “My thoughts and prayers are with those families who have lost loved ones in the Grenfell Tower fire and the many people who are still critically ill in hospital.
“Prince Philip and I would like to pay tribute to the bravery of firefighters and other emergency services officers who put their own lives at risk to save others.
“It is also heartening to see the incredible generosity of community volunteers rallying to help those affected by this terrible event.”
I am extremely proud of Queen Elizabeth and Prince William. A firm example of how royalty has learned how to relate to the ‘ordinary’ person. Their presence (while other politicians, etc. stayed away) demonstrated that they truly care. Life was loss in that horrific fire, so many seriously injured, with bodies still to be found. I honestly believe that while the Queen, Prince William and Kate, as well as Prince Harry continue to show their sorrow and support of those in genuine need, there will be a monarchy.
