In an understandable move, the Duchess of Sussex reportedly wants a nanny from her home country to help take care of her baby.
The Daily Express revealed that Her Royal Highness wants an American nanny for her child.
She has reportedly told the staff at a Kensington-based recruitment agency to look for a suitable nanny to begin work within the next three months. She and Prince Harry want the nanny to feel like part of their family instead of an employee. They are also not ruling out a male nanny.
A source told the Express, “Meghan and Harry have clear ideas on how to bring up their children. Meghan was clear in telling recruiters she favours an American over a Brit and wants them to feel part of the family rather than a uniformed member of staff.”
“That is important to her; she’s never hidden the fact she is fiercely proud of her American roots. They are keen to explore the possibility of a male nanny,” they added.
The Duke and Duchess are expected to interview the candidates personally.
Once hired, the nanny will have access to their own car and could earn up to £70,000-a-year, depending on their experience.
Of course, the person hired will be based at Frogmore Cottage, the Sussexes new home in Windsor that they moved into just a couple of weeks ago.
The choice of an American nanny is a natural one as the royal baby will be half-American, and Meghan will be keen for her child to grow up knowing and being exposed to its American roots and culture.
The Duchess of Sussex is due any day. She and the Duke of Sussex have elected to keep their baby’s arrival private and will announce the birth later once they’ve had time to celebrate as a family.
