Duchess of Sussex debuts eternity ring at Trooping the Colour

The Duchess of Sussex debuted a new silver eternity ring during Trooping the Colour. Eagle-eyed royal watchers noticed the third ring below her engagement and wedding rings during the carriage procession.

Some suspect the ring was a gift, or ‘push present’, from the Duke of Sussex after the birth of the couple’s son, Archie. The ring could have also been a present for the Duchess on the couple’s first wedding anniversary. They wed in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on 19 May 2018.

An eternity ring usually contains small diamonds covering the entire band as a sign of a couple’s unbreakable bond.

The Duke of Cambridge also gave his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge an eternity band after the birth of their first child, Prince George of Cambridge on 22 July 2013.

Saturday’s Trooping the Colour was the first official engagement for the Duchess of Sussex since she gave birth at Portland Hospital on 6 May to Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. She took part in the carriage procession and later appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside the rest of the Royal Family to watch the fly past.

The Duchess, in navy, rode in the same carriage as the Duke of Sussex, Duchess of Cornwall and Duchess of Cambridge from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards for the Trooping.

There were large crowds for the procession despite the weather which saw temperatures below average for June although the early morning rain had disappeared by the time the royals made their appearance.

It’s the first time Meghan has been seen since the 8th of May when she presented her baby son to the world in Windsor Castle.

The Duchess is currently on maternity leave, but like her sister-in-law, the interrupted her leave to attend Trooping out of respect for Her Majesty The Queen.
