Zara and Mike Tindall Speak Exclusively to Australia’s Daily Telegraph

Zara and Mike Tindall sat down for an exclusive interview with Australia’s Daily Telegraph, where they discussed everything from parenthood to horses to polo.

They even discussed the recent news about Zara’s pregnancy.

“Mike and I are over the moon to be welcoming another little one into the family,” Zara said to Stellar’s Liz Deegan.

“So far things seem to be on track. I feel great and Mia was such a good baby – we have got our fingers crossed for the second time around.”

The couple’s first child, Mia, is almost three years old.

The Stellar article begins by highlighting the Tindalls’ low-key and fun-loving lifestyle. The couple is eating dinner in a bistro in the Saint-Germain district of Paris, and are rousing fellow patrons into singing karaoke with them. Once they find people willing to partake, they head out to find a karaoke bar.

“This is the real Zara Phillips,” Deegan writes. “A fun, no-nonsense, down-to-earth woman with an intelligent world view, an infectious appetite for humour and a sharp, dry wit.”

The couple also talks about their equestrian pursuits, and how Mike was never really interested in horse racing until he met Zara.

“I watched the Grand National and that was about it. Now I’m part of a horse-owner syndicate and go to pretty much every race there is.”

The couple were interviewed in Paris because they were joining the Australian businesswoman Katie Page to launch the 2017 Magic Millions carnival. Magic Millions is a week-long horse auction and race that takes place on the Gold Coast of Australia. Zara has been an ambassador for the event since 2012, and brought her husband and daughter along with her last year, where Mike promptly fell in love with the event and the country.

“To come to Australia once a year in summer for this race is even better. This is the country I always loved touring the most – I love the people and the laid-back lifestyle. And the sun.”

Zara has signed on to be the Magic Millions Racing Women Patron for the next five years (Mike will be a Patron of the carnival for the same period of time), lending her name and support to women in racing.

“I see my role [as] to try to lead by example, in what I’ve done. I want to try to give back and encourage women to do the same thing.”
