The Duke & Duchess of York are ‘back together’ as they go on joint official overseas visit

The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, are closer than ever before as they travelled abroad together on an overseas visit to Bahrain.

Andrew and Sarah visited Bahrain in a personal capacity, although the Duke did undertake a number of official engagements in the country during the visit.

This was the first foreign royal visit the Duchess has been on with her former husband in 25 years.

Buckingham Palace has refused to comment, although it is understood Sarah paid for her own plane tickets.

The Duke & Duchess were guests of the Crown Prince of Bahrain at the £900-a-night Ritz Carlton Hotel.

Princess Beatrice also joined her parents on the trip, alongside her new partner Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Speaking to Rebecca English of The Daily Mail, a source said: “They have always been the most happily divorced couple anyone has ever known, but there seems something more to the relationship nowadays.

“The smart money is on them getting married again after the Duke of Edinburgh passes away. Philip has never forgiven Sarah for her past indiscretions, but the Queen has always just wanted her son to be happy.”

ITV News further claims that the couple’s relationship is now ‘back on’.

However, a spokesperson for Sarah Ferguson said this evening: “The Duke and Duchess of York continue to be good friends and nothing has changed in their relationship.”

Andrew and Sarah divorced in 1996 but remain good friends and live together.

The Queen appears to have accepted Sarah back into the family, and she often stays with Her Majesty at Balmoral Castle during the summer.

However, it is no coincidence that whenever Sarah is at Balmoral or another royal residence, the Duke of Edinburgh is nowhere to be seen.

Royal Diaries are planned months in advance, and each year the Duchess arrives and departs before the Duke of Edinburgh is in residence.
