The Duke of York has revealed that he suffered from a peculiar medical condition in a BBC Newsnight interview.
Speaking to Emily Maitlis, Prince Andrew disclosed that the accusations levelled against him by Virginia Roberts could not possibly be correct because he could not sweat at the time.
The 59-year-old royal said that being shot at during the Falklands War meant he was unable to perspire.
Ms Roberts claimed that as she danced with the Prince in a London nightclub, he was was “sweating profusely.”
The Duke mentioned this in the interview, saying: “I have a peculiar medical condition which is that I don’t sweat or I didn’t sweat at the time and that was…was it…yes, I didn’t sweat at the time because I had suffered what I would describe as an overdose of adrenaline in the Falkland’s War when I was shot at and I simply…it was almost impossible for me to sweat.”
Prince Andrew also said that he is convinced he never met Ms Roberts in Tramps nightclub as alleged.
He said: “I’m convinced that I was never in Tramps with her. There are a number of things that are wrong with that story, one of which is that I don’t know where the bar is in Tramps. I don’t drink, I don’t think I’ve ever bought a drink in Tramps whenever I was there.”
