The Prince and Princess of Wales to visit Sandringham to view floral tributes to The Queen

Kensington Palace has announced that the Prince and Princess of Wales will visit Sandringham on Thursday, September 15, to view some of the floral tributes left in honour of The Queen.

As has been the case at all of the Royal Residences, people have been leaving flowers at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk – the home where The Queen and her family stayed each Christmas and Easter.

The Prince and Princess of Wales will view some of the tributes that have been left my members of the public at the Norwich Gates – the wrought-iron gates which guard the main entrance to the estate.

Prince William and Catherine, who now live in Windsor, will be the first royals to view the messages left by people at the Norfolk residence.

Over the weekend, the couple were joined by the Duke & Duchess of Sussex to view the flowers and messages of condolences outside of Windsor Castle.

The foursome then conducted a walkabout to meet members of the public who had gathered on The Long Walk.

Similar scenes have been witnessed at Buckingham Palace where The King and Queen Consort viewed tributes, before meeting mourners who had turned up to show their support.

Likewise, at Balmoral Castle, members of The Royal Family viewed the many messages which had been left by people before the family headed back to London.

William and Catherine were granted the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales after their father assumed the throne.

King Charles announced the news in his address to the nation the day after his mother’s death.

It is expected that Prince William’s investiture as Prince of Wales will take place at an appropriate time in the future.
