Prince & Princess of Wales

Take a look at the Ascot school that will soon welcome George, Charlotte and Louis as students

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are officially heading to Lambrook School in Berkshire at the beginning of the new school year, Kensington Palace announced on Monday.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared the news that their children will attend the Berkshire school, saying that they are “pleased to have found a school for all three of their children which shares a similar ethos and values to Thomas’s,” the school where Prince George and Princess Charlotte attended from 2017 and 2019 onward.

Lambrook School is located in Catherine’s home county of Berkshire on 52 acres of land and educates 615 students from ages three to 13. It is located roughly 11 kilometres from Windsor Castle.

Lambrook School’s main aim is to find the balance between education and childhood and prepare its pupils for both by giving them “the ‘Feathers to Fly’ so that when they leave us, they will spread their wings and will take flight; leaving Lambrook as confident, happy, engaging, mature, considerate and thoughtful young adults who are outward looking global citizens,” according to the school’s official website.

The school is equipped for day students and boarders from nursery to prep-school levels and offers performing arts, sports, pastoral care in the form of activities that promote and care for their students’ mental health, and religious activities.

Lambrook School’s headmaster Jonathan Perry said: “We are delighted that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be joining us this coming September and very much look forward to welcoming the family, as well as all of our new pupils, to our school community,”

Ben Thomas, the Principal of Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s former school, St Thomas’s London Day Schools said “We would like to thank George, Charlotte and all of our leaving pupils for upholding the school’s values and for their many contributions to school life throughout their time at Thomas’s. We wish them every happiness and success at their next schools and beyond.”

The Cambridge children’s school announcement coincides with the confirmation that the Cambridge family will relocate to Windsor, staying in Adelaide Cottage on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The royals will continue to use their Kensington Palace apartments as their London base and offices, and Anmer Hall on the grounds of the Sandringham Estate will continue to be their country retreat.
