CoronationPrince & Princess of Wales

Prince Louis puts on another stellar balcony performance

The entire Wales family were busy at the Coronation. Prince George served as a Page of Honour for his grandfather, and The Prince of Wales paid homage to his father during the ceremony. However, the youngest member of the family stole the show again.

Prince Louis was led into Westminster Abbey and to his seat by his older sister, Princess Charlotte, who held his hand while they walked behind their parents.

The young Prince turned five two weeks ago and could sit through most of the ceremony. He did leave for a few moments to take a break but then returned to his seat with his parents and sister.

After the Coronation service was complete, The Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis joined the King and Queen in a procession through Westminster to return to Buckingham Palace. Louis enjoyed the carriage ride and waved to the crowds throughout.

After The King and Queen received a salute from the military, the working members of the Royal Family and the Coronation attendants went to the balcony to greet the crowds.

As with his Platinum Jubilee balcony appearance, Prince Louis delighted the crowds and royal watchers everywhere.

Much like in 2022, Louis made his enjoyment of the flyover clear – he pointed at the sky as the Red Arrows flew over the large crowds and turned to chat with his older sister and mother.

Royal watchers were not disappointed by the young Prince’s expressions. Throughout the appearance, he gave a whole-hearted two-handed wave to the crowds below and paired it with a bored expression.

Prince Louis has not attended longer, formal events in the past. Given that he was able to attend the Coronation service and the later appearances, it is clear that he is growing up quickly.
