Prince & Princess of Wales

A Happy Father’s Day from the Prince of Wales with a subtle tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II

Kensington Palace has released a new image of the Prince of Wales with his three children to mark Father’s Day.

The photo, taken by Millie Pilkington, shows Prince William with Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5) on the Windsor Estate earlier this year.

George and Charlotte are on each side of William while Louis stands with his arms around his father’s shoulders.

There is a subtle tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II in the image. The family is sitting on a wooden bench that commemorated Her Late Majesty’s 90th birthday on 21 April 2016.

A similar image of the family was released for Father’s Day last year when the Prince and Princess of Wales were still the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. In that photograph, the then-Cambridges were seen in Jordan on a family holiday.

In 2020, Kensington Palace released a photo of Prince William on the grass while his children climbed on his back.

The Wales family had a busy 17 June with Trooping of the Colour – the first of the reign of King Charles III. All three children joined the carriage procession and balcony appearance on a packed day for the Royal Family.
