The royals who will be working on the day of Princess Eugenie’s wedding

In less than a weeks time, Jack Brooksbank will become the newest member of The Royal Family as he marries Princess Eugenie at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. But despite the big occasion, some senior royals could be absent from proceedings due to a diary full of other commitments.

One member of The Royal Family who will not be in attendance at the wedding is the Duchess of Cornwall. The future Queen Consort will instead be in Scotland undertaking an engagement at a school to celebrate Harvest Festival.

According to The Sun on Sunday, Camilla will miss Eugenie’s wedding to keep a long-standing commitment to visit the school children during their Harvest Festival event so they are not left disappointed.

The newspaper reports that the Duke and Duchess of York trying to persuade her to change her mind, although the engagement at the school has been planned at least eight months in advance.

A source said: “When this date was proposed, she said that regrettably, she couldn’t come.

“The family understood, particularly Eugenie, and were fine about it owing to her previous commitment. Camilla didn’t want to let anyone down.”

It is more than likely that once her engagement has finished at the school, Camilla will fly to Windsor to attend the evening wedding reception alongside her husband, the Prince of Wales.

The Duchess of Cornwall is not the only royal to have an engagement next Friday. The Queen’s cousin, the Duke of Kent, also has a listing in the royal diary.

The Duke, who turns 83-years-old next week, will attend a dinner at Grosvenor House in London.

His Royal Highness will attend the Military Rehabilitation Headley Court Gala Dinner, which will take place in the evening meaning he should still be able to attend the main ceremony.

He will be absent from the wedding reception, however, which The Queen is hosting inside Windsor Castle
