The Prince of Wales will visit Bramhan Park in Wetherby on Saturday to attend a consecration service and present a new Guidon to The Queen’s Own Yeomanry.
Prince Charles is Royal Honorary Colonel of the QOY and will attend the event in West Yorkshire alongside the Duke of Westminster.
The consecration service and parade will be conducted on the lawn of Bramham Park House. with 140 serving and retired members of the Regiment on Parade. An additional 650 guests will be in the grounds of the historic house to watch the event.
During the parade, the heir to the throne will take the salute before making a short speech and presenting the new Guidon to the Commanding Officer and the Regiment. The Prince will also join a regimental photograph before attending a reception.
The Duke of Westminster will also be attending the event in recognition of his late father’s connection with the Regiment. The 27-year-old will present the new ‘Duke of Westminster Medal’ to two soldiers that have made an outstanding contribution to the Regiment.
Prince Charles has been the Royal Honorary Colonel of the Queen’s Own Yeomanry since 2000 and were last presented a Guidon by the Prince in 2007.
